Agri-drone maker Suind lines up ₹20.5 crore round led by Transition VC
Bengaluru-based Suind is set to raise ₹20.5 crore led by Transition Venture Capital Fund, valuing the autonomous agriculture-drone maker at around ₹80 crore as it expands its Bumblebee platform beyond farms.

Suind, a Bengaluru-based startup building autonomous drones for agriculture, is set to raise ₹20.5 crore (about $2.2 million) in a fresh funding round, according to regulatory filings reviewed by startup tracker Entrackr. The round is led by the Transition Venture Capital Fund, and marks one of the larger early-stage cheques written into India's agricultural robotics space this year.
A bigger bet on farm autonomy
Transition Venture Capital Fund is putting in ₹20 crore, while IIM Ahmedabad's incubator arm, CIIE Initiatives, is contributing ₹50 lakh, the filings show. The infusion values Suind at around ₹80 crore on a post-money basis.
The round also reshapes Suind's ownership. Following the allotment, Transition Venture Capital Fund is set to emerge as the company's largest external shareholder with roughly a 25% stake, while co-founders Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber will each continue to hold about 25.08%.
Founded in 2020 by Shrivastava and Kleber, Suind has spent the last few years trying to answer a stubborn question in Indian farming: how do you make a drone that can work a field on its own, without a trained pilot standing at the edge of every plot?
Inside the Bumblebee platform
Suind's answer is Bumblebee, its flagship platform. Rather than treating the drone as a remote-controlled sprayer, the company pairs computer vision with autonomous navigation so that the aircraft can survey a field, identify problem areas, and carry out targeted operations with minimal human intervention.
In practice, that means Bumblebee is built to monitor crops, flag issues such as disease or stress before they spread, and carry out precision spraying — depositing inputs where they are actually needed instead of blanketing an entire field. For smallholders and agribusinesses alike, the pitch is lower input costs, less chemical wastage, and a route around the shortage of skilled drone operators in rural India.
That combination of onboard perception and self-guided flight is what places Suind closer to the robotics end of the agri-tech spectrum than to the growing crowd of manually flown spraying drones.
From farms to factories
The company has signalled that it does not intend to stay boxed into agriculture. Suind plans to use the fresh capital to push its autonomous drone technology beyond farming and into industrial applications, where the same perception-and-navigation stack could be repurposed for inspection, monitoring and logistics tasks.
That expansion logic mirrors a broader pattern among India's physical-AI and robotics startups, which increasingly treat a core autonomy platform as a foundation to be deployed across multiple verticals rather than a single-use product.
Why it matters
India is one of the world's largest agricultural economies, and the government has actively encouraged drone adoption on farms through subsidy schemes and pilot programmes. But much of that early activity has leaned on human-piloted machines. Startups such as Suind are betting that the next phase belongs to systems that can see, decide and act with far less hand-holding.
For investors, the appeal is a hardware-plus-software company addressing a large, underserved market with a defensible technology stack. For farmers, the promise is more mundane but arguably more important: a tool that shows up, does the job, and does not require a specialist to operate.
The round still hinges on the standard closing formalities that follow such filings, but it underscores continued investor appetite for Indian deep-tech companies that put autonomy to work in the physical world.
