BonV Aero Joins GENIUS NY’s Tenth Cohort for Heavy-Lift Drone Development

Bhubaneswar-based BonV Aero is one of five companies selected for GENIUS NY’s tenth accelerator cohort, according to the programme’s September 10 announcement.

The other finalists are Astrabeam, Full Spectrum Research, Revolute Robotics and Vigilare AI. The companies will compete for $3 million in total investment: a $1 million grand prize and four $500,000 awards. The pitch finals are scheduled for May 2027.

Hardware for difficult logistics

BonV develops autonomous heavy-lift aerial platforms for transporting supplies where conventional transport is difficult. The programme describes the company’s origins in remote mountain logistics and its intended applications in emergency response and commercial delivery.

Its Air Orca product page presents one of the company’s aerial platforms. The accelerator selection itself does not verify every advertised payload, altitude or endurance figure, and it is not an award of the grand prize.

What the residency adds

The yearlong programme combines product and business development with access to the Central New York unmanned-systems ecosystem. Selected companies establish a local office and work primarily from the INSPYRE Innovation Hub in Syracuse.

For a hardware developer entering another market, that support can help connect engineering work with customers, operating requirements and potential partners. The useful next evidence will be identifiable trials, product improvements and commercial agreements.

BonV’s selection is a concrete international-development step. Its progress through the programme should be tracked separately from both its earlier Indian demonstrations and the investment decision at the final competition.
