Neysa Picks STT GDC's Noida 2 Data Centre for an AI Cloud Build-Out Designed for Up to 9,000 GPUs

Mumbai-based AI cloud company Neysa has chosen STT Global Data Centres India (STTGDC) to host its next large GPU deployment. Under the arrangement, announced on 21 October 2026, Neysa will place GPU infrastructure and its Velocis AI cloud platform at the STT Noida 2 data centre in the National Capital Region. The first phase is designed to support up to 9,000 GPUs and is expected to go live from the first quarter of calendar 2027.
The two companies describe it as the first phase of a multi-year relationship, built for high-density AI training and inference.
What's being built
The deployment is planned, not running. Reports are careful to note that the go-live window is an anticipated date and that no AI computing service is yet operating at the site.
STT Noida 2 offers about 22 MW of capacity, according to DCD, with a neighbouring Noida 3 facility under development and set to offer 28 MW. A 9,000-GPU cluster of current-generation accelerators would draw a large share of a building of that size: modern AI racks run at power densities many times higher than conventional enterprise servers, which is why colocation providers now market "AI-ready" halls with liquid cooling and heavier power distribution.
Neysa will provide the compute and software layer. Velocis is its platform for running AI workloads — giving customers GPU capacity along with tools to train, fine-tune and serve models.
What the companies said
Bimal Khandelwal, CEO India at STTGDC, linked India's AI ambitions to the availability of digital infrastructure able to handle compute-heavy workloads.
Sharad Sanghi, Neysa's co-founder and CEO, argued that raw GPU access is not enough. "Our customers need more than access to GPUs. They need capacity they can plan around, reliable operations and room to scale as their workloads evolve," he said. Sanghi earlier founded Netmagic, one of India's first internet data centre companies, and Khandelwal credited that work with helping shape the country's data centre industry.
Why it matters
India is trying to make AI compute a domestic resource rather than something rented from abroad. Under the IndiaAI Mission, the government subsidises access to GPUs for start-ups, researchers and model builders, buying capacity from private providers. On 13 October MeitY invited bids for another 10,000 AI compute units, to be organised in clusters with at least 512 units at a single data centre in India.
That model only works if Indian providers can stand up large, reliable clusters on Indian soil. Neysa is one of the domestic companies positioning for that market, alongside larger players. TechCrunch has previously reported that Neysa had about 1,200 GPUs live and was aiming for much larger capacity — so a 9,000-GPU first phase would be a step change for the company.
The deal also shows how the market is dividing: data centre operators like STTGDC supply land, power, cooling and connectivity, while specialised AI clouds supply accelerators and software. For Indian start-ups building foundation models or deploying AI in local languages, more domestic capacity should mean shorter queues, data that stays in India, and less exposure to export controls on advanced chips.
The test will be execution: securing the GPUs, power and customers needed to fill 9,000 accelerators by 2027.
