FITT Forward 2026 Connects Research Teams With Industry and Venture Support
The IIT Delhi summit ran on 10–11 September and included a SportsTech accelerator agreement. Reported incubation totals refer to the earlier 2025 baseline, not new 2026 outcomes.

FITT Forward returned to IIT Delhi on 10–11 September, bringing research teams, founders, industry participants and investors together around the problem of moving technology into practical use.
The official event page confirms the second edition's dates and programme. YourStory's account describes discussions covering AI, semiconductors, manufacturing, space, healthcare, agriculture and sports technology, along with a closed-door startup demonstration session.
A specific agreement, with implementation ahead
YourStory reports an agreement between TechnoSport and AIC-IIT Delhi to develop a SportsTech accelerator, alongside an agreement involving FITT and World of Innovation. Signing an agreement is an institutional milestone; it does not establish that an accelerator has selected a cohort or produced a deployed technology.
The reporting dates FITT’s cited incubation and commercialisation totals to the 2025 edition. They are not evidence of fresh outcomes from the September 2026 event, and they are omitted here rather than presented as newly verified patent or licensing results.
Following the work after the event
For researchers, a useful industry connection can clarify the conditions a technology must meet outside a laboratory. For companies, it can identify a capability that would otherwise remain difficult to access. Neither outcome is measured adequately by the number of panels or signed memoranda alone.
The follow-up questions are concrete: which collaborations begin work, what facilities or support become available, and what results participating teams can demonstrate? Tracking those steps would show whether the summit helped projects progress toward adoption.
The 2026 programme provides a view of the institution's priorities. Its longer-term value will depend on the projects and operating arrangements that follow.
